Order before Friday, ship Monday. Our flavored sourdough breads are naturally delicious, vegan and made with wild yeast and organic non-GMO flours from King Arthur Flour. Long, cold fermentation and selected spices give our breads a savory tang, a toothsome crumb and a longer shelf life (5-6 days after baking). Baking at high heat creates a crisp crust that keeps our breads moist with a chewy crumb.
Our flagship flavors are Salt & Pepper, Korean Chili & Black Currants, Spiced Black Olive, and Turmeric & Sweet Onion. Explore our menu for details. After cooling our breads weight just under 2 lbs (30 oz) each. Our bread are sold in sets of two loaves, except for our Triple Treat Sampler. For special orders of three or more loaves email us for pricing: [email protected]. Crafty Primate breads are packaged in paper which assists in curing and diminishes staling as it ships. When your bread arrives reheat the whole loaf at 350°F for 10 minutes to freshen it up.
Never refrigerate bread, it will hasten staling! Opinions vary about storing in paper or plastic at room temperature; we prefer paper to keep the crust firm and plastic to get a softer bread. Did you know you can freeze sourdough bread? Whole loaf, half loaves or cut into slices — wrap well with foil and plastic to store for up to three months.
We bake on Sundays and ship from our Sunset Park kitchen the following Mondays and Tuesdays to ensure freshness. Your package will be sent USPS 1-3 Day at a Flat Rate of $12.50, but you will be refunded the difference and sent Priority Mail if pricing is lower. In other words, for Brooklynites, Montclair NJ, Hudson and Long Island folks you pay around $6.99-7.02; Pittsburgh and North Carolina about $9.08-10.48, etc. We accept most major Credit and Debit Cards using PayPal for payment processing. We ship anywhere in the Contiguous United States. Read more about Shopping & Shipping.
